SC orders Kathmandu Metro to collect Singha Durbar’s garbage within 3 days

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) to remove the garbage from Singha Durbar within three days.

Hearing on the writ filed by advocate Padam Bahadur Shrestha against KMC Mayor Balen Shah’s ‘declaration’ that the metropolis would not collect the garbage of Singh Durbar, SC directed to remove the garbage within three days.

The Single Bench of Justice Prakashman Singh Raut ordered KMC to collect and dispose of the garbage of Singha Durbar within three days on Friday.

The Supreme Court has drawn the ‘serious attention’ of the Office of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet for necessary coordination and proper cooperation at the Landfill site.

Kathmandu Mayor Shah had directed the bodies not to collect the garbage of the capitol citing the latter’s lack of cooperation.
