Scotland sets 212 runs target against Nepal, Sandeep and Karan serve excellent bowling

KATHMANDU: Scotland has given a target of 213 runs to Nepal in their last match under ICC Cricket World Cup League-2 undergoing in TU Cricket Ground Kirtipur.

After losing the toss and being invited to bat, Scotland scored 212 runs losing all wickets in 46.1 overs. George Munsey played a half-century for the team.

He faced 50 balls and scored 60 runs with 9 fours and 2 sixes. Similarly, Matthew Cross scored 42, Brandon McMullen scored 31, Christopher McBride and Kyle Coetzer scored 22 each.

Sandeep Lamichhane, the main bowler for Nepal, gave an excellent performance. He gave away 45 runs in 10 overs and took important 4 wickets. Sandeep took the wickets of Kyle Coetzer (22), George Munsey (60), captain Richie Berrington (0) and Thomas McIntosh (1). He returned to the field after almost 6 months and took 13 wickets in 4 matches in this series.

Similarly, Karan KC took three wickets, and Kushal Malla and Lalit Narayan Rajbansi took one wicket each in today’s match.

Nepal wants to make a new record by winning the series  winning  the matches four times in a row. So far, in the League-2 series, Nepal has not been able to win all the four matches of the series.

Nepal is planning set the record of winning all four games by taking advantage of its home ground.
