NC should nominate a neutral candidate, not political, as presidential candidate: Shekhar Koirala

SINDHULI: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that his party should nominate a national and an apolitical figure as its presidential candidate to ensure national consensus.

Speaking at a program in Sindhuli on Tuesday, Koirala said that the presidential candidate should be a non-party and undisputed individual.

Koirala’s claim comes at a time when the names of NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ramchandra Paudel, leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula are being discussed as potential candidates for the post of the country’s President.

He added that only a person who has a good image in the society can maintain a national consensus.
