Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabry visiting Nepal today



KATHMANDU: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Ali Sabry, is set to make an official visit to Nepal starting on December 20.

The visit is in conjunction with the inaugural meeting of the Nepal-Sri Lanka Joint Commission (JC), scheduled to take place in Kathmandu on December 21-22, 2023, as confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The JC meeting will see the participation of Narayan Prakash Saud, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, who will head the Nepali delegation comprising officials from various ministries of the Government of Nepal. Additionally, both foreign ministers are scheduled to engage in a separate bilateral meeting.

During his stay, Minister Ali Sabry will also pay courtesy calls on the President and Prime Minister of Nepal, fostering diplomatic ties between the two nations.

The official visit aims to strengthen diplomatic relations and explore avenues for cooperation between Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Minister Ali Sabry is scheduled to depart from Kathmandu for Colombo on December 23, 2023.
