KATHMANDU: The gold seized from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Wednesday was securely transported to the Taksar (Mint) Division of Nepal Rastra Bank.
The gold was safely transferred from the Revenue Investigation Office to the Mint Division located in Babarmahal.
The responsible entities involved in the transportation process included employees from the Revenue Investigation Office and the Armed Police Force.
Together, they ensured the smooth movement of the seized gold to its designated destination.
The gold was recovered by a team from the Revenue Investigation Department, who intercepted a taxi leaving the Tribhuvan International Airport after passing through customs checks.
Subsequently, upon further inspection, the gold was found hidden inside the brake shoe of a motorcycle/scooter that had arrived on a Cathay Pacific Air flight.
In connection with the case, the police have arrested six individuals thus far.
