KATHMANDU: The government has asked its Embassy in Delhi to find out the reality of the murals related to ‘Akhanda Bharat’ and submit a report.

Responding to the queries of the lawmakers at the International Relations Committee of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Foreign Minister NP Saud informed that the government instructed the Nepali Embassy in Delhi to find out the reality of the murals related to Akhanda Bharat.

Foreign Minister Saud said that the Indian government’s official position has been that the murals on the Indian parliament building refer to the ‘Akhanda Bharat’ during Emperor Ashoka’s time.

In the meeting, the lawmakers expressed their concerns about Nepali territories like Lumbini, Kapilvastu, included in the murals inside the new parliament building.

The Foreign Minister said that the government of Nepal is not officially aware of the content of the EPG report.
