We will lay foundation of Nijgadh Airport soon: PM Dahal



BARA: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said Thursday that the foundation stone for the construction of Nijgadh International Airport would be laid down very soon.

Addressing an election assembly organized by the ruling alliance at Gadhimai of Bara today, PM Dahal gave assurances that construction works of the airport would be expedited.

“I had said during the inauguration of Pokhara International Airport that we will proceed ahead with the construction of Nijgadh Airport soon. I would like to assure you that its construction would be started at the soonest after completing the construction-related homework,” he said.

The PM stated that initiatives would be taken to develop Gadhimai as a hub of international tourism and the government has a plan for its conservation and promotion by forming the Gadhimai Development Board.

According to him, irrigation facilities would be expanded through an electrical irrigation system and the government would pay special attention to the development of this area under Upendra Yadav’s leadership.

On the citizenship issue, Prime Minister Dahal said, “This time we have got a President who does not complicate matters but who facilitates in unraveling the knot. The problem related to citizenship is not only that of the Madhes, but that of the country itself. The problem would be resolved for the long term.”

Prime Minister Dahal said improvement has now been seen in the country’s economy though it was in crisis earlier.

“Arrival of tourists has increased. The reserve of foreign currency has also increased. We have affiliated millions of Nepali people residing abroad with the Social Security Fund. It is a big step for prosperity”, he mentioned.
