KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the political powers that stood together during the 12-point agreement, detailed peace agreement and constitution making should stand together again in the presidential and vice-presidential elections.
Addressing the sixth plenary meeting of CPN-Maoist Center in Pokhara on Monday afternoon, the Prime Minister remarked that the country needs a national consensus again to take the tasks of the implementation of the Constitution and institutionalization of federal democracy in the country.
“The country is in a difficult situation politically and economically. There is a foul air in politics; the economy is in a difficult place. At the time of the 12-point agreement, comprehensive peace agreement and constitution making, the various political powers stood together. Again, those forces need to stand together. The country’s problems should be solved through national consensus,” he said.
Stating that Maoist Center has no preferences, he pointed out that there are various options for national consensus.
Prime Minister Dahal urged the major political parties to stand together to meet the expectations of the people and resolve various crisis the country is likely to face.
He directed the leaders to go to the public for two months and bring their grass root level people’s report relating to various issues.
The Maoist Center chairman directed the cadres to work to meet martyred families, missing families, and injured disabled people. Let’s rebuild and transform the party based on their suggestions.
