Sudurpaschim government will last for five years: Chief Minister Shah



ATARIYA: Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Kamal Bahadur Shah, has expressed the confidence that the government under his leadership will win the vote of confidence from the Provincial Assembly and last for five years.

He said various false information were spread regarding the sustainability of his government.

“Open discussions are being held with all. We will reach to a conclusion soon,” the Chief Minister said allaying fears that the Province was headed for a mid-term election.

He said he will fulfill his constitutional responsibilities and expressed the commitment the government under his leadership will move ahead as per the people’s aspirations.

Stating that the government has accorded priority to corruption control, Chief Minister Shah said the first meeting of the Council of Ministers has formed a Corruption Control Procedures Formulation Committee and pursued its works to that end.

He added that the provincial government will focus on infrastructure development, education, health, agriculture, tourism and employment generation.

Shah was appointed to the post of Chief Minister on January 10 and he has not taken the vote of confidence till date.

The support of 27 legislators is required to form a government. There are altogether 53 legislators in the Sudurpaschim Province Assembly.

The Chief Minister has the support of 23 legislators, including 19 from the Nepali Congress and four from the Unified Socialist.
