Communist forces should move united: Prime Minister Dahal



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has reiterated on the need to make a single center comprising genuine communist parties of Nepal.

Speaking to Nepal Communist Party (Bahumat) leader Dharmendra Bastola at the Prime Minister’s office in Singha Durbar on Friday, the Prime Minister stressed on the need to unite all political parties following genuine communist ideology.

“Socialism-oriented system of Nepal is not written in the constitution in a general sense. There is still a debate going on about the socialist path of Nepali nature. All the communist parties in Nepal are now discussing this issue. Communist forces should move ahead united,” he said.

PM Dahal urged leader Baskota to play constructive role in unifying the communist forces.

During the meeting, the leaders of CPN (Majority) presented various demands related to nationalism, democracy and people’s livelihood to the Prime Minister.

PM Dahal thanked the delegation led by Bastola for drawing attention to the genuine issues and assured him that the government is committed to the development of a self-sufficient economy while protecting the national capital.

The Prime Minister repeated the government’s commitment to facilitate the release of political prisoners facing music for their involvement in struggles including people’s war, Tharu movment, Madhes movement.
