KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is holding a meeting of its Parliamentary Party (PP) to finalize the name of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) today.
The election to the post of Deputy Speaker is taking place on Saturday.
Sources claim that RSP lawmaker Sobita Gautam is likely to be elected the Deputy Speaker of the HoR.
However, the RSP has yet to finalize the name of the Deputy Speaker.
It has been learned that RSP lawmaker Gautam on Thursday met with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and CPN-UML KP Oli.
Sources said that both PM Dahal and UML Chairman Oli have assured Gautam of the post.
UML Chairman Oli is learned to have assured Gautam telling her to be prepared to register her name at the Federal Parliament Secretariat on Friday.
