Birgunj hosting international soccer tournament in November



BIRGUNJ: The ‘First Birgunj Gold Cup-2023’ is set to take place in Birgunj, Parsa next month.

The soccer tournament to be hosted by the Veterans City Club, Birghunj is scheduled to run from November 4 to 11 and its winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 1,111,111 while it is Rs 555,555 for the runner-up.

The prize amounts are the highest ever offered for sports in the entire Madhesh Province, it is said.

The tournament will see the participation of several prominent teams, including the Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Sankata Club, Church Boys United, Jhapa AFC, the host Veteran City Club, and two clubs from India: Clive House Dum Dum based in Kolkata and North Zone Football based in Delhi, according to the organizers.
