Nepal Airlines to fly regularly to Dammam in Saudi Arabia from Sept 6

The national flag carrier of the country, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), has decided to operate in Dammam in Saudi Arabia from September 6.

NAC has already opened ticket bookings for flights to Dammam in Saudi Arabia from August 19.

Corporation spokesperson Ramesh Paudel informed that the corporation, which is going to fly regularly to Dammam as its 13th international destination, has opened ticket bookings from today.

The Corporation is starting direct flights on the Kathmandu-Damam-Kathmandu route from September 6.

CIB sufficient for handling corruption cases: NC General Secretary Sharma

Bishwa Prakash Sharma, the General Secretary of Nepali Congress (NC), has stated that a high-level committee is unnecessary for investigating the gold smuggling case, as the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police is fully competent to manage corruption and criminal cases.

During a program organized by NC’s policy and training wing in Dhankuta on Saturday, Sharma expressed his belief that reopening corruption cases and prosecuting the culprits could establish good governance.

UML Vice Chairman Nembang views Parliament obstruction as contrary to constitutional spirit

While the main opposition party CPN-UML is constantly obstructing the parliament, the party’s Vice Chairman Subash Chandra Nembang has remarked that obstruction of the House of Representatives is not constitutional.

In a program organized in Dhulikhel, Nembang recalled that there was a serious discussion about not obstructing the parliament while making the constitution.

Koshi CM Thapa taking vote of confidence on Aug 21

Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Uddhav Thapa, is scheduled to take a vote of confidence on August 21.

Deputy-Speaker of Koshi Province Assembly, Srijana Danuwar, allowed Chief Minister Thapa to present the proposal regarding a vote of confidence in the Province Assembly at 1:00 pm on August 21, said PA Secretary Gopal Prasad Parajuli.

1,275 cases registered at Kathmandu police in a month

As many as 1,275 cases have been registered in the country’s federal capital, Kathmandu, in a month.

The District Police Range Kathmandu informed that a total of 1,275 cases were registered during a month from mid-July to mid-August in different incidents.

Spokesperson of the District Police Range, SP Kumod Dhungel said the number of criminal incidents has increased in the month of Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August) this year than in the same month last year.
