Gold worth more than one billion rupees recovered from TIA



KATHMANDU: The Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) recovered gold worth more than Rs 1 billion on Wednesday.

A team of officials deployed from DRI recovered the gold worth more than one billion rupees today, an official of the Department said.

The gold was found during the cargo inspection of ready-made clothes and garments on Wednesday afternoon.

The gold has been tested. The DRI team is now assessing the weight and value after confirmation from the tests.

Prior to this, the police had recovered 88 kg of gold brought by Chinese nationals in August 2017.
