STC Nepalgunj office stocks over 2,700 quintals of salt

NEPALGUNJ: The Salt Trading Corporation Limited, the Lumbini provincial office, Nepalgunj, has stocked a total of 2,786 quintals of salt as of the previous fiscal year, 2022/23.

The provincial office imported a total of 234,000 quintals of salt from Khadaghoda of Gujarat in India every year.

Each year, the office supplied 36,000 to 38,000 quintals of salt to various remote areas under the subsidy program, according to the provincial office chief Mahesh Chaudhary.

On Monday, 320 quintals were supplied to Jumla, he added.

New bidding is announced every fiscal year, and all related documents have been sent to Kathmandu to announce new bidding for the current FY, 2023/24, he said.
