Left leaders announce Samajwadi Front Nepal

KATHMANDU: Top leaders of Nepal’s left-inclined political parties on Monday announced the formation of what they called “Samajwadi Morcha Nepal”, a loose forum of Left political parties at the Rastriya Sabhagriha in Kathmandu.

Leaders of four parties  — Maoist Center, Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), CPN-Unified Socialist, and Communist Party of Nepal ‘Biplav’ — assembled at the announcement program on Monday.

Prime Minister and Maoist Center chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav, Unified Socialist Party Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, and CPN-Biplav’s Coordinator Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ among others signed the seven-point declaration as the guidelines for the Front.

The newly-announced Samajwadi Morcha (Socialist Front) has claimed to be a “visionary group” to lead the country to peace and prosperity ensuring justice and equality.
