Number of Ministries reaches eight in Karnali

KATHMANDU: The number of ministries has been increased to eight in Karnali province.

It was reduced to seven on January 11 during the time of the CPN (UML)- CPN (Maoist Center) coalition.

A meeting of the council of ministers of the province on Tuesday evening decided to revise the number of ministries in the province, said Krishna Bahadur GC, the province government spokesperson and Minister for Internal Affairs and Law.

According to GC, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Water Resources has been separated to form two ministries – the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development, and the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, by making changes to the Schedule 1 and 2 of the Province Government Work Division Regulations, 2074 BS.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure has 13 work responsibilities while the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources has 12 work responsibilities.

Minister GC said the meeting also decided to give approval in principle to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure for formulating the Provincial Road Bill.
