NC to join govt; to give of vote of confidence to PM Dahal

Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to join the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda-led government. A meeting of the party held on Sunday morning decided to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Dahal.

Unified Socialist to give vote of confidence to PM Dahal

The Unified Socialist Party led by Madhav Kumar Nepal has decided to give vote of confidence to the government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda. Party Deputy General Secretary and Spokesperson Jagannath Khatiwada said that the decision was taken at the central secretariat meeting held at the party’s central office in Aloknagar on Sunday.

RSP to give vote of confidence to PM Dahal

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to give vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. A joint meeting of the party’s central committee and the parliamentary party held on Sunday decided to give vote of confidence to Prime Minister Dahal.

FSU election conducted today

Voting under the Free Students Union (FSU) election was held in the Central Campus of the Tribhuvan University (TU) and its constituent and affiliated campuses across the country. The voting commenced at 8:00 am and continued until 4:00 pm, according to TU Students Welfare and Sports Directorate director Pashupati Adhikari.

Gold price hits record high

Gold price hit a record high level in the domestic market on Sunday. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold was traded at Rs 110,000 per tola and standard gold at Rs 109,500 per tola. The fine gold was traded at Rs 107,100 per tola and standard gold was traded at Rs 106,600 per tola on Friday.

No need to prosecute Rabi Lamichhane: District Public Prosecutor’s Office

The Kathmandu District Public Prosecutor’s Office has decided not to prosecute Rabi Lamichhane in the alleged passport misuse and fraud case. Achyutmani Neupane of Kathmandu District Prosecutor’s Office, the district attorney reached at the conclusion to not sue Lamichhane after a thorough study on the use of a passport.

Bhimduttanagar Municipality to prize cricketers Airee, Sarki

The Bhimduttanagar Municipality in Kanchanpur district is to honor two national cricket team members with Rs 151,000 each. The municipality would prize cricketers Dipendra Singh Airee and Bhim Sarki.  Both the cricketers are permanent residents of the Bhimduttanagar Municipality.

Royal Bengal tiger found dead in Chitwan

A Royal Bengal tiger has been found dead in a protected forest area near the Padampur community forest in Kalika Municipality-7, Chitwan. The endangered Royal Bengal tiger was found dead on Saturday afternoon, according to Information Officer of Division Forest Office, Chitwan, Bal Krishna Khanal.

Niraula elected Chair of Film Artistes Association of Nepal

Mohan Niraula has been elected the Chairman of Film Artistes Association of Nepal, the umbrella organization of cine artistes in the country. On his election to the post, Niraula defeated Rejina Upreti. From the voting happened on Saturday on Association’s 19th general assembly, Niraula got 235 votes while Upreti managed 209 votes.
