BARA: Tara Karki, the Chairperson of Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City-3, was apprehended by a team from the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Hetauda.
The arrest took place on Monday at Jaiswal Hotel in Jitpur, where Karki was found in possession of Rs 500,000 in bribe money, as confirmed by the police. Pradeep Chhetri, Chief of Area Police Office, Simara, revealed that Karki allegedly accepted the bribe from local resident Rajan Upreti in connection to a road construction project.
CIAA stated that ongoing investigations were underway to delve deeper into the case.
