NC President Deuba expresses sorrow over Mehata’s demise



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Sunsari-based party stalwart, Lali Prasad Mehata.

In a statement released by NC Central Office Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, President Deuba conveyed his deepest condolences on behalf of himself and the entire party to the grieving family. He expressed heartfelt sympathies and wished for eternal peace for the departed soul.

At the age of 78, Mehata, an influential figure as the NC General Convention representative, has left an indelible mark. The party acknowledges his pivotal role in fortifying the party’s structure and Nepal’s democratic movement. With his demise, the party mourns the loss of a seasoned, devoted, and astute personality.
