PM Dahal making an aerial inspection of Korala checkpoint, Kagbeni area

MUSTANG: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ who arrived in Mustang this morning is scheduled to have aerial inspection of the Korala checkpoint and the Kagbeni area ravaged by flood on last July.

It may be noted that agreement was made between Nepal and China to operate 14 trade transit points, including Korala of Mustang during PM’s recent visit to China.

Permission cards have been distributed to 1,000 plus local people from Lomanthang and Lodhekar Damodarkunda rural municipality to allow them to enter China as part of the preparation for operating the Korala checkpoint that has remained halted for the past four years.

Maoist Centre Mustang in-charge Kapil Lama informed that local people are planning to discuss with the Prime Minister about erosion of the Kaligandaki river, removal of five villages of upper Mistang from the list of prohibited zone and land related problems.

Prime Minister Dahal is accompanied by Minister for Forest and Environment Dr Birendra Prasad Mahato, Bagmati province Minister for Health and Social Development Sushila Simkhada, Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management Resham Bahadur Jumjali and House of Representatives (HoR) member Devendra Poudel, among others.

After attending the interaction on climate change, PM Dahal will address a gathering of his party organized under the ‘Maoist transformation campaign with the people’ in Jomsom today itself.

The Prime Minister arrived in Mustang to participate in an interaction program on climate change hosted by Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) under the National Trust for Nature Conservation.
