PM Dahal holds talks with UN Secretary General Guterres in New York

Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, who arrived in the United States to partake in the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations, held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres. Prime Minister Dahal and Secretary-General Guterres met at the United Nations headquarters in New York as part of his diplomatic engagements during the assembly.

PM Dahal assures Nepalis living abroad of voting rights

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has pledged to ensure voting rights for Nepali citizens residing abroad.  He emphasized that no Nepali living abroad will be denied their right to vote, and he has already directed the Election Commission to facilitate voting arrangements for Nepalese expatriates.

Hearing on cricker Lamichhane’s case postponed

The hearing for the case involving cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has been postponed due to the unavailability of judges at the Kathmandu District Court. Despite multiple previously scheduled dates for the final hearing regarding the alleged rape of a minor, a conclusive resolution remains pending.

Govt committed promoting research, innovation and entrepreneurship: PM

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the government is committed to formulating and implementing long-term policies and programs on research, innovation and entrepreneurship, and on integrating the related national system. PM Dahal reiterated that the government is at the stage of formulating the necessary bills and legislations for the promotion of research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Teej festival observed across nation today

KATHMANDU: The festival of ‘Teej,’ a major festival observed by Nepali Hindu women, was celebrated in a grand manner, wishing for prosperous life and perpetual luck throughout the country today.  As per the tradition, women on this third day of dark half of the lunar month that falls in the Nepali month of Bhadau observe fasting and wish for a prosperous life while observing the festival.

Member of Parliament Santosh Pariyar says that a member of parliament is powerful while parliament forms as well as supervises the government. But since MPs are within the limits of the party there is little work that MPs can do on their own.  Pariyar, who is the chief whip of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, said that even within the party the issue of ‘paralyzing’ MPs in a parliamentary system has been raised.

2,966 police personnel deployed at Pashupatinath Temple for Teej

In a bid to ensure the safety and security of devotees thronging the Pashupatinath Temple on the auspicious occasion of Haritalika Teej, a force of 2,966 police personnel has been stationed in the temple area. The Pashupatinath Temple is witnessing a massive influx of worshippers today, drawn to the temple to mark the celebration of Teej.

Teej: Shiva temples received hoards of devotees

Devotees thronged temples across the country including the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu on the occasion of the Haritalika Teej festival today. All four doors of the Pashupatinath temple were opened at 3:00 am early this morning for the devotees coming to pay obeisance to Lord Shiva marking the Teej festival, said Head of Culture Preservation Division of Pashupati Area Development Trust Gaurishankar Parajuli.

NEA transfers 104 employees

Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has transferred as many as 104 staffers. Among those transferred are directors, managers, deputy managers, assistant managers, and engineers.

16 teams participating in the LPL T20 cricket tournament

A total of 16 teams are set to participate in the Little Flower Premier League (LPL) Senior T20 cricket tournament to be held in Dhangadhi. Altogether 16 teams from all over the country are going to participate in the eighth edition of competition, said president of the organizer, Little Flower Sports Club, Dhangadhi, Ramchand Shahi.
