Hearing on cricketer Lamichhane’s case postponed

KATHMANDU: The hearing for the case involving cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has been postponed due to the unavailability of judges at the Kathmandu District Court.

Despite multiple previously scheduled dates for the final hearing regarding the alleged rape of a minor, a conclusive resolution remains pending.

Sources indicate that the case could not proceed as scheduled because some judges were on leave following promotions, while others had been transferred.

The fate of cricketer Lamichhane, accused of raping a 17-year-old girl, will be determined after the final hearing, which will decide whether he is to be acquitted or incarcerated.
