KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” holds a positive outlook regarding the prospect of a pivotal energy agreement during his upcoming visit to China.

Speaking at the 38th annual celebration program of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Prime Minister Dahal recalled his recent visit to India, where an initial agreement was established to potentially export up to 10,000 megawatts of electricity.

He highlighted the ongoing dialogues between Nepalese and Indian officials to solidify this agreement.

Prime Minister Dahal shared that the final stages of preparation are underway for the signing of an agreement to export electricity to Bangladesh.

In a different context, PM Dahal emphasized the importance of integrity and cautioned against politicking in developmental efforts, underlining the responsibility to create a promising future for the next generation.

He revealed that the current government is resolutely focused on meeting domestic electricity demands, augmenting electricity exports, and enhancing energy security through increased domestic consumption.

Prime Minister Dahal stated that forthcoming days will witness the government’s steadfast commitment to advancing the construction of significant hydropower projects, notably the 1,000 MW Budhigandaki Reservoir and the 10,800 MW multifunctional Karnali Chisapani project.
