No cantonment corruption, will face jail if proven: PM Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has strongly denied corruption allegations in the cantonment, labeling them as baseless and biased. Prime Minister Dahal asserted his readiness to face potential imprisonment if a complaint is filed and an investigation is conducted and proven regarding the alleged corruption in the cantonment.

Prime Minister expresses readiness to open all corruption files

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has announced his intention to open the files pertaining to major corruption cases that have occurred thus far. This, he said, would be a crucial step towards addressing the issue of corruption and promoting transparency in the country.  Responding to lawmakers’ queries at the House of Representatives on Thursday, PM Dahal emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing a range of issues.

Bhutanese refugee leader Teknath Rijal arrested

Bhutanese refugee leader and rights activist Teknath Rizal has been arrested in the fake Bhutanese refugee case. Based on the statements given by Keshav Dulal, Sanu Bhandari and others, the police had increased surveillance on him. The police arrested him after finding facts that he also had financial connections with the group.

Fake Bhutanese refugees scam: Haj Committee Chairperson Miya arrested

Police have arrested Chairperson of Nepal Haj Committee Shumsher Miya on the fake Bhutanese refugee issue. He was arrested from Singha Durbar on Thursday morning, said SSP Dan Bahadur Karki of District Police Circle, Kathmandu.

Revenue of Rs 50 million raised through passport camp in Portugal

Revenue amounting to Rs 52.2 million has been collected from the passport service camp that was operated targeting Nepali immigrants facing passport related problems in Portugal. The month-long camp held in Portugal raised the revenue amount, informed Deepak Adhikari, Non-Resident Nepali Ambassador to Portugal and also the Ambassador to France.

NC leadership quiet despite Shekhar-Gagan faction’s mounting pressure to suspend Khand

Nepali Congress (NC) is caught in a quagmire amid conflict between two factions within the party regarding whether or not to suspend its leader and former Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, who was arrested in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam. The party leadership, particularly NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba does not deem it necessary to suspend Khand despite mounting pressure from the Shekhar Koirala-Gagan Thapa faction.
