Sudurpaschim Govt to reward Airee and Sarki with Rs 200,000 each

DHANGADHI: The Sudurpaschim Province Government has decided to reward Dipendra Singh Airee and Bhim Sarki with Rs 200,000 in recognition of their outstanding contribution in the recently held ICC World Cup League II.

Nepal had registered an improbable win in the match held on March 16 against the UAE thereby making to the 2023 One-Day Men’s World Cup Qualifiers.

Chasing a mammoth victory target of 311 runs set by the visitors under the ICC Cricket Men’s World Cup League-II series in TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, Nepal defeated the UAE by 9 runs on the Duckworth-Lewis method, after the match could not be completed due to bad light.

The award was also announced to celebrate Nepal reaching to the Qualifiers of the 2023 One-Day Men’s World Cup Qualifiers to be held in Zimbabwe as well as to motivate the players.

According to Dhirendra Shahi, chief personal aide of Sudurpaschim Province’s Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah, other players in the team representing Sudurpaschim Province will be rewarded with cash prize.

Nepali National Cricket Team’s another player Sandeep Zora will be awarded with Rs 100,000 while Kamal Singh Airee and Arjun Saud who were one among the 18 players qualified to play in the ICC World Cup Cricket League II would get Rs 50,000.

Meanwhile, CM Shah has congratulated the Nepali National Cricket Team for qualifying for the One-Day ICC World Cup League II.

Bhim Sarki, one of the players in the national cricket team, expressed his happiness over the announcement of cash prize and said that it further motivated them to play well.
