Aashif Sheikh and Gyanendra Malla’s record-breaking partnership and Kushal Malla’s explosive half-century helped Nepal defeat Namibia by 3 wickets in the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2 on Saturday.

While winning the third match in a row in League-2, Nepal completed the target of 275 runs given by Namibia by losing 3 wickets after playing 47.3 overs.

Nepal recorded three new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Saturday.

The confirmed cases were detected through the RT-PCR method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 937 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours.

Province 1 UML recommends action against 81 including Durga Prasai

The province 1 committee of CPN-UML has taken action against 81 provincial committee members including central committee member Durga Prasai.

The province 1 committee meeting held on Friday decided to dismiss them from the party committee.

According to Province 1 Committee Secretary Chintan Pathak, the committee took action against those who were absent from the meeting for 5 times. He informed that 81 people who did not attend the meeting and were not involved in any activities of the provincial committee were removed from their responsibilities.

Bir Hospital to run Burn ward within 3 months

Newly appointed Executive Director of Bir Hospital, Dr Santosh Paudel, has said that a burn ward will be put into operation at the hospital within the next three months.

EC calls for party registration for Chitwan-2 by-election

The Election Commission has called for the registration of political parties for the by-elections to be held on April 23.

Issuing a notice on Saturday, EC urged all political parties interested to take part in the by-elections to be held in Chitwan-2.

395 jailbirds, including parliamentarian Chaudhary given amnesty

Parliamentarian Arun Chaudhary, who is currently in Kailali jail, has been given amnesty on the occasion of Democracy Day (Falgun 7).
