Ambassador Volk launches 18th edition of Pratik magazine



KATHMANDU: Reading through the pages of Pratik Magazine has been a joyful reflection for me, said Australian Ambassador to Nepal Felicity Volk while launching the 18th edition of the magazine in the capital.

Pratik, an English magazine containing contemporary writing, has now been released with contents related to the South Asian Issues.

Founded by Nepalese poet, Hari Adhikari and edited by Yuyutsu RD Sharma, Pratik is purely a non-profit quarterly publication and is published by White Lotus Book Shop, Kathmandu.

The magazine welcomes contributions from literary writers in the genres of poetry, fictions, essays, book reviews and translations, it was shared.

Pratik Magazine highlights South Asian special Issues, including literary works of acclaimed litterateurs of the region.

Appreciating noted poet Sharma for his capacity in exploring the voice of other writers as his own in the magazine, she said she was grateful for providing space to her first creation ‘lightning’ in the magazine.

Ambassador Volk in the event reads an excerpt from her piece published in the magazine, a story of South Asian nation Pakistan. The magazine holds literary creation of South Asian litterateurs, namely Shyamal, Shyam Rimal, Shailendra Sakar, Parijat, Hari Adhikari and others.

The Pratik Magazine’s South Asian Issue is a compilation of special content on Nepali literature as well as select contemporary poems.
