Province 1 UML recommends action against 81 including Durga Prasai

KATHMANDU: The province 1 committee of CPN-UML has taken action against 81 provincial committee members including central committee member Durga Prasai.

The province 1 committee meeting held on Friday decided to dismiss them from the party committee.

According to Province 1 Committee Secretary Chintan Pathak, the committee took action against those who were absent from the meeting for 5 times. He informed that 81 people who did not attend the meeting and were not involved in any activities of the provincial committee were removed from their responsibilities.

Those who rebelled against the party in the elections from the local level, province level and the House of Representatives have been expelled from the party.

The meeting has recommended to the Central Committee to expel Durga Prasai from the central membership of the party.

The province has recommended to the upper committee to take action against him for carrying out activities contrary to the party policy and ideology.

After Prasai organized a program featuring former king Gyanendra Shah and his son Paras Shah, there was a demand to dismiss him from the party.

Prasai, who is also a medical professional, has started a campaign to ‘save religion and nationality’.
