KATHMANDU: The Sri Lankan Embassy in Kathmandu has objected to the fact that a sitting Minister of Sri Lanka was barred from entering the VIP room of the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu.

The Embassy staff who reached the airport to receive the Sri Lankan delegates were disappointed since the Sri Lankan Minister was not allowed to enter the special room even after notifying the airport authority in advance.

Sri Lanka’s Minister of Commerce, Supply and Agriculture Kachakaduge Nalin Fernando landed at the airport today at 12.30 pm from Sri Lanka Air’s plane to participate in the South Asian Agricultural Conference.

A team including the military attaché of the embassy, Madusa Gunashekhara, was waiting in a special room of the airport to welcome the Sri Lankan Minister.
