CPN (Maoist Center) leader arrested on charges of rape



KATHMANDU: A leader associated with the CPN (Maoist Center) has been apprehended on charges of raping a 17-year-old girl who was residing in his house in Pepsicola, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32.

The arrested individual has been identified as Bhuminanda Devkota, originally from Gorkha. Devkota had previously served as the personal secretary to Hisila Yami when she was a minister.

The arrest followed a complaint to the police, alleging that Devkota had been sexually assaulting the girl for the past year.

The authorities are now conducting investigations into the case to gather evidence and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the alleged incidents.
