Once a Nepali, always a Nepali: President Paudel



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has assured that the identity of being Nepali remains ingrained regardless of global whereabouts, speaking at the World Conference of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

He also commended the NRNA’s role in fostering Nepal’s economic equilibrium.

President Paudel underscored the NRNA’s potential in promoting the export of Nepal’s hydropower worldwide and in attracting global tourists to Nepal.

He emphasized the imperative role of the NRNA in propagating Nepali culture beyond borders.

“NRNAs can effectively channel new technologies developed abroad to Nepal,” articulated President Paudel at the event.

During the conference, Upendra Mahato, the founder of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, highlighted the organization’s foundation with the vision of propelling national prosperity.

He emphasized the significance of selecting the organization’s leadership through a consensus-based approach.

Raveena Thapa, the President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, emphasized the collective management of the organization, even with the presence of three presidents.

Chairman Kul Acharya expressed his contentment over the government’s response to the citizenship demand.

He advocated for extending citizenship to non-resident Nepalese based on descent, while also advocating against the sale of native lands.

Dr. Badri KC, the Executive Chairman of NRNA, expressed elation over the distribution of citizenship, affirming the timeless Nepali identity.

He highlighted the need to establish operational procedures for the Nepal Development Fund, valued at Rs 10 billion, and stressed the necessity of facilitating passport issuance for Nepalis working abroad.
