NEPSE declines by 42 points on Sunday

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) fell by double digits on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.

The stock market index NEPSE decreased by 42.14 points to 1,964.91 points today.

The shares of all the groups decreased, but the shares of the hotel, hydropower, insurance, manufacturing, and trade groups have fallen alarmingly.

Today, the shares of Molung Hydropower Company have declined the most by more than nine percent, and the shares of Menchiam Hydropower Company and Bungol Energy Company decreased by more than eight percent. However, the shares of Shubham Power Company increased by 10 percent.

Although the market decreased inviting every stakeholder’s concern, the turnover increased on Sunday. Today, 5,659,000 shares of 278 companies were traded. In 72,400 transactions, shares worth more than 2.2 billion rupees were bought and sold.

In terms of Sunday’s share transaction record, NIC Asia Bank and Reliable Life Insurance Company witnessed the transactions of the highest number of shares with NIC Asia recording Rs 275.4 million and Reliable Nepal Life Insurance worth Rs 245.2 million.
