Shashanka Koirala rules out possibility of government change
Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shashanka Koirala has categorically ruled out the possibility of a government change at the present moment. Speaking to the media here today, the NC leader expressed that despite general misunderstandings among the ruling partners, there is currently no likelihood of a government change. “As far as I am concerned, the government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ could endure for a full five-year term,” he remarked.
Health Ministry forms committee to hold talks with agitating doctors
The Ministry of Health and Population formed a committee to hold talks with doctors who have suspended services in health institutions across the country, except for emergencies. The Ministry of Health stated that a talks committee has been formed under the leadership of Additional Health Secretary Bikas Devkota.
District Public Prosecutor’s Office files case on 61 kg gold smuggling
The District Public Prosecutor’s Office filed a case at the Kathmandu District Court today, in connection with the 61 kg gold smuggling case recently seized by the Department of Revenue Investigation. The District Public Prosecutor’s Office filed the case four days after receiving the investigation report from the CIB of the Nepal Police.
The CIB has recommended that the public prosecutor’s office file a case against 29 individuals, comprising 25 who have been arrested and four who remain at large.
In total, 32 individuals, including 8 Chinese nationals, are currently in custody in relation to this case. The CIB has advised against prosecuting seven of them.
CPN-UML to commemorate Subash Nemwang’s memory with interactions across all provinces
The CPN-UML is set to honor the late Speaker of the Constituent Assembly, Subash Nemwang, by organizing a series of interactions in all seven provinces. President’s Office seeks clear Grounds for pardoning 34 individuals on Constitution Day
The President’s Office has asked the Ministry of Home Affairs to provide clear justifications for the pardon of 34 individuals on Constitution Day. Similarly, the President’s Office has urged the submission of personal details for the 34 individuals recommended for a pardon. The Ministry of Home Affairs has put forth a list of 34 individuals for potential pardons to be granted by the President on Constitution Day, which falls on September 20.
Influenza on the rise in Banke
The number of people suffering from influenza infection is found to be increasing in Banke district. The number of people being confirmed with influenza infection has been increasing since the past two weeks, said Influenza Focal Person Consultant Physician of the Bheri hospital, Dr Khagendrajung Shah.
Man killed by crocodile
A man has died after coming into an attack of a crocodile in Chitwan. The deceased has been identified as Faguna Mahato, 44, of Magartole, Ratnanagar Municipality-5 in East Chitwan. Mahato was found dead in Dungaghat area on Saturday evening.
Karnali government to give 17 types of subsidies to farmers
The Karnali province government is going to give 17 types of subsidies this year to encourage farmers in the province. Various grants are going to be given under the approved program of the current financial year 2080-81.
Nepal Medical Association shuts down non-emergency health services
In response to the recent assault on two doctors at Sancho Hospital in Hetauda, Makwanpur, the Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has decided to suspend all health services, excluding non-emergency care, in healthcare facilities across the country today. On September 13, an incident unfolded within the hospital premises when a group of individuals, accompanied by their relatives, attacked Dr. Bikas Thapa and Dr. Prashant Bidari.
