KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane has urged party cadres and leaders to expand the party organization in view of the next three-tier election in 2084 BS.

It may be noted that one of the new political parties in the country had emerged as the fourth largest party in the parliament following the parliamentary election in November in 2022.

Chairperson Lamichhane asked his party cadres and leaders to gear up to field the right candidates representing the party to contest at the ward level to the federal level in the next three-tier election.

He said so at an afforestation program organized by the party’s Bagmati Province committee nearby Shivapuri Nagarjun National Party at Tokha Municipality-1 in Kathmandu district today.

“We must work hard to gain a two-thirds majority in the 2084 BS’s election. RSP will emerge as the largest party at that time,” assured Lamichhane.

He viewed that the remaining 4.5 years would be a time for his party to do the necessary homework to groom a talented and potential person as a candidate to contest from the ward level to the federal level in the next election.

According to him, his party would devise rules, and procedures and prevent people with ill intentions from entering the RSP ward level to the federal level. “The door and heart of RSP is open for all but ill-intended people.”

He shared that various week-long celebratory programs would be organized to mark the first anniversary of the party.

The journalist-turned-politician Lamichhane announced his party RSP amidst an event organized at the City Hall in Kathmandu on June 21, 2022.
