Two Nepali students died in truck-bus collision in Japan



KATHMANDU: Two Nepali students who went to study in Japan died when a truck hit the bus in Japan last night.

According to the Japan Times, they were killed when a truck hit a stopped bus on the Tohoku Expressway in Kurihara, Miyagi Prefecture on Tuesday night. The bus driver also died in the accident.

According to local time, the accident happened at 8:30 pm last night.

There were 39 Nepali students and one Bangladeshi student in the bus. They were going to Ichinoseki in Iwate for part-time work.

The driver stopped the bus on the road after the engine broke down.
The students died when a speeding truck hit the back of the bus while the students on board were getting out.

The driver of the truck that hit the bus is seriously injured. The identity of the deceased Nepali student has not been released.
