Govt slashes fare for long-distance public transport

KATHMANDU: The government has slashed long-distance fares from today.

The decision to this effect was made after the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) reduced the price of diesel with effect from 12 midnight on Tuesday.

The diesel price was reduced by Rs 10 per liter.

With the decrease in diesel prices, there has been a reduction of 3.20 percent in the transportation fare.

Similarly, the fare of cargo vehicles operating on mountain roads has decreased by 4.19 percent.

Freight vehicles operating on the Terai route have decreased the fare by 4.65 percent.
