ISKCON’s 39th Rath Yatra to take place in Kathmandu on Saturday

KATHMANDU: The 39th Rath Yatra of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is set to be held in Kathmandu on Saturday, starting from Chabahil and culminating at Jorpati to Narayantar.

ISKCON Chair Savin Regmi shared that thousands of individuals from various parts of the country will take part in this event.

The event will feature bhajan, kirtan, and free prasad distribution, as informed by ISCKON Nepal, appealing to attendees to join the gathering. The Vedic Sanatan Dharma holds special significance for the four dhams.

Among these, the Jagannath Puri Dham in Odisha, India, holds particular importance, where thousands of devotees celebrate the Jagannath Rath Yatra. “It is believed that whoever touches the rope of Lord Jagannath’s chariot at least once in their lifetime is considered equivalent to performing thousands of Ashwamedha Yagyas,” shared ISKCON Nepal.
