Surveyor in Jhapa arrested on bribery charges



BHADRAPUR: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has apprehended Devnarayan Thakur, a surveyor employed at the Survey Office in Bhadrapur, Jhapa, on allegations of corruption.

Acting on information and complaints regarding their solicitation of bribes in exchange for services, a task force dispatched by the Commission’s Itahari office apprehended Surveyor Thakur and middleman Umesh Yadav, catching them red-handed.

The CIAA seized a total of 125,000 Nepalese rupees in cash and a check for 55,000 Nepalese rupees from the involved parties.

The arrests took place today in Bhadrapur Municipality Ward No. 7, Chandragarhi, Jhapa.

A comprehensive investigation into the matter is undergoing, the CIAA said.
