Koshi CM Karki expected to seek vote of confidence before Dashain

BIRATNAGAR: Chief Minister of Koshi, Kedar Karki, is geared up to seek a vote of confidence before the Dashain festival.

The provincial assembly has been summoned for a session on October 18, aimed at determining the confidence in Karki’s leadership.

The session has been slated to commence at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18.

Following his recent swearing-in ceremony, Chief Minister Karki has initiated discussions with various political factions, notably the CPN-UML, to secure support ahead of the impending confidence vote.

A close source to the Chief Minister said, “The Parliament Secretariat will likely receive formal communication regarding these discussions today.”

It should be noted that the UML has thrown its weight behind Karki, who assumed the Chief Minister’s office in accordance with clause 5 of Article 168 of the Constitution.
