Historical Ram Leela screening begins in Nepalgunj

BANKE: Screening of the 156th edition of the historical Ram Leela (life of Lord Ram) has begun in Nepalgunj.

A team of artists from Brindaban of India screened the ‘Ram Leela’ including the life trajectories of Ram, Sita, Laxman, Hanuman and Rawan.

According to Ram Leela Operation Committee Chairperson Santosh Kumar Kanodiya, a 22-member musical team under the leadership of Jagadish Prasad Sharma of Brindaban Dham has started screening the Ram Leela.

He further informed that Ram Leela will be performed from 8.00-12.00 pm up to the day of Bijaya Dashami through Ghatasthapana – the first day of Dashain.

Hundreds of people enthusiastically participated in the Ram Leela screening in Nepalgunj.

The screening of Ram Leela which has become the identify-marker of the area will contribute to elevating the image of Nepalgunj in Nepal and India, Nandalal Baishya, a leader of Nepalgunj.

Nepalgunj sub-metropolis mayor Prashant Bista said the Ram Leela will be helpful in maintaining social harmony and mutual unity.

Also speaking on the occasion, Chief District Officer Shrawan Kumar Pokharel expressed his belief that the Banke folks will come together for the cause of social harmony.
