Will be active in politics for next two decades: KP Oli

BHAKTAPUR: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has vowed to remain active in politics for 20 years and facilitate leadership transition in the party.

In an interactive session with students held in Balkot, Bhaktapur on Saturday, Oli expressed his commitment to remain active in politics for another two decades.

He clarified that his intention was not to personally lead the country and the party for the entire duration but to actively assist qualified individuals in leadership roles.

Responding to a student’s query about his plans, Oli stated, “I have contemplated staying politically active for another 20 years. However, this does not imply that I will hold the reins of the country and the party for the full 20 years. Instead, I will contribute to those in leadership positions by actively participating in politics.”

Oli also highlighted his determination to break the prevailing trend of individuals clinging to power until their last days. He emphasized that regardless of personal health conditions, the desire to retain a position often persists. “I aim to disrupt this trend,” he asserted.

Regarding his health, the UML Chairman revealed that he had experienced some health issues in the past, including multiple surgeries and two kidney transplants. However, he reassured them that his transplanted kidney was functioning optimally and that he was currently in good health.

“I’ve had to undergo several operations, including two kidney transplants. Fortunately, my transplanted kidney is functioning very well, and I have no health issues at present,” he confirmed.
