KATHMANDU: The government has decided to postpone the decoration of honors and medals to be given away by the President on the occasion of Constitution Day.

The government has decided to form a task force to submit a report within three months by carrying out studies on different international practices on decorations and medal distributions.

The move is aimed at making the decorations of honors and medals more decent and systematic, it is said.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Friday also decided to form a committee on tax system reforms under the leadership of former minister Bidhyadhar Mallik.

The government has approved the Irrigation Policy, 2080 BS as well. In view of the upcoming festive season, the Council of Ministers decided to allow Salt Trading Corporation and Food Management and Trading Company Limited to import 10,000 metric tons of sugar each by waiving 50 percent off the customs tariffs.

Likewise, the cabinet also approved Nepal Citizenship (Third Amendment) Regulations, 2080 BS.

The meeting has also decided to form a high-powered judicial commission to permanently address the issues of people affected from Shuklaphanta National Park.
