Supreme Court sentences Resham Chaudhary to life imprisonment
Nepal’s Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday upheld the Dipayal High Court’s decision to sentence Resham Chaudhary to life imprisonment. Chaudhary has been branded as the mastermind in the 2015 Tikapur carnage. A division bench of Supree Court (SC) justices Nahkul Subedi and Anand Mohan Bhattarai gave the verdict today.
Govt decides to declare Mukesh Kayastha a martyr
The government has decided to declare Mukesh Kayastha a martyr. Government Spokesperson and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said that the decision was taken at the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday. He died last Wednesday at the age of 33.
SC issues short-term interim order not to implement the decision to give 2 lakhs rupees to Maoist ex-militants
The Supreme Court (SC) has given a short-term interim order not to immediately implement the decision to grant Rs 2 lakhs as a relief to ex-combatants of the CPN-Maoist party. The bench of Justice Kumar Regmi stated that the decision to give money to the ex-militant should not be implemented immediately.
