Lightning struck Yarsagumba pickers rescued after four days



DARCHULA: Three persons, who were injured due to lightning while collecting the valuable alpine herb, yarsagumba, in Darchula, have been rescued today after four days.

All of them were airlifted to Nepalgunj Medical College on a Nepali Army chopper at 9:00 am for treatment, said Chief District Officer, Kiran Joshi.

The NA chopper from Surkhet failed to rescue the injured people on Monday due to bad weather. Three yarsagumba pickers – Mahesh Badal, 18, from Duhu rural municipality-2, Aan Singh Mahara, 37, of Duhu rural municipality-1, and his wife Manmati Mahara, 30 were injured in lightning at Vyas rural municipality on Saturday.
