People’s representatives sending their kids to public schools



DAMAULI: People’s representatives of Ambukhaireni rural municipality have started enrolling their children in public schools.

The municipal executive decided that the children of the people’s representatives should be educated in public schools from the new academic session.

Chairperson of the rural municipality, Shukra Chuman, has already enrolled his two children in public schools.

Prior to this, they used to attend a private boarding school.

A decision was taken to send the children of people’s representatives to public schools as part of the educational reform campaign of the public schools, he said.

Santosh Gurung, the ward president of Ambukhaireni-5, is also enrolling his two daughters in a public school.

According to Prem Bahadur Gurung, spokesperson of the rural municipality, 32 people’s representatives of the rural municipality are going to enroll their children and grandchildren in public schools.

The rural municipality is advancing the year 2080 as a campaign to transform the education of community schools.

There are 35 community schools in six wards of Ambukhaireni Rural Municipality. More than 400 students are studying in the schools.
