NC leader Bhandari’s mother, injured in gas cylinder explosion, passes away

KATHMANDU: Harikala Bhandari, 86, mother of Nepali Congress (NC) leader Chandra Bhandari, who was injured in a cooking gas cylinder explosion, passed away in the course of treatment at the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur on Thursday morning, hospital sources said.

According to Dr. Nijina Tamrakar, Medical Director at the hospital, Harikala passed away at 10:57 am on Thursday morning.

Both Chandra Bhandari and his mother has sustained burn injuries after a cooking gas caught fire and exploded at their house in Kathmandu on Wednesday night.

NC general-secretary Bishwo Prakash Sharma shared this information through his social media network.

Leader Bhandari was elected the HoR member from Gulmi constituency-1 in the last November 20 general election.
