PM Dahal and UML Chairman Oli discuss cabinet expansion

Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ discussed cabinet expansion, election of Speaker of the House of Representatives, among other issues with CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Monday morning. PM Dahal reached Oli’s residence in Balkot for the second time after taking the vote of confidence from the Parliament.

I never canceled my Nepali Citizenship, no need to claim it again: Home Minister Lamichhane

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has argued that the writ filed against him demanding nullification of his post as lawmaker should be revoked for he (Lamichhane) never canceled his Nepali citizenship and the nationality dispute was resolved five years ago. Submitting a written response to the Supreme Court query about writ regarding his eligibility for the post of MP on Friday, the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Lamichhane argued that he need not apply for obtaining Nepali citizenship since he never canceled it while obtaining US Citizenship.

We’ll consult NC on Speaker issue: Prime Minister Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the ruling coalition will consult Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition party which gave vote of confidence to the government, prior to making final decision on the Speaker. During the meeting between the Maoist Center Chairman Dahal and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli this morning at Oli’s residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur, the top leaders of the coalition agreed to discuss the issue of the Speaker with NC.

Madhesh govt forms high-level committee to promote good governance

The Madhesh Province government has formed a high-level committee to promote good governance while making service delivery and development work effective. A five-member committee has been formed under the coordination of Nurhari Khatiwada, Secretary of Government Reform and Coordination Division of the Chief Minister’s Office.

Remaining reconstruction will be given completion: PM Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has pledged to complete all remaining work of post-quake reconstruction. Prime Minister Dahal has asserted that his government’s foremost priorities were construction of earthquake-resilient infrastructures and to move ahead with uniformity in policy and practice.

National flag lowered to half-mast in mourning of air crash deceased today

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has decided to lower the Nepali national flag to half-mast today (Monday) in mourning of those who lost their lives in an air crash in Pokhara on Sunday.
