Former Home Minister Khand granted bail in Fake Bhutanese Refugee Case

Former Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader, Bal Krishna Khand, has been granted bail after providing a surety of 4.5 million rupees in connection with the fake Bhutanese refugee case and the money laundering case. Khand, who was apprehended on May 10, faced serious allegations linked to the counterfeit Bhutanese refugee issue.

12 political parties submit applications for NA elections

A total of 12 political parties have applied for party registration to participate in the upcoming National Assembly elections. As of the deadline on December 15, these political entities, including major players like Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Maoist Centre, Unified Socialist, Janata Samajwadi Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party, Rastriya Janamorcha, and Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party, are now in the queue for scrutiny by the Election Commission.

NOC reduces petrol and diesel prices

The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has implemented a reduction in fuel prices, affecting petrol, diesel, and kerosene. Effective from Friday midnight, the NOC has slashed the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene by Rs 3 per liter.

NC reschedules Mahasamiti meeting amid NA election preparations

The Mahasamiti committee meeting of the Nepali Congress, initially slated for January 1-4, 2024, has been rescheduled. According to NC leader Bimalendra Nidhi, the decision to this effect was made during Friday’ Central Work Performance Committee meeting. Originally scheduled for January next year, the Mahasamiti meeting was deferred to avoid coinciding with the National Assembly elections.

Gold price up by Rs 300 per tola today

Gold price increased by Rs 300 per tola in the Nepali market today. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold was fixed at Rs 119,100 per tola and standard gold was traded at Rs 118,550 per tola. The precious yellow metal was valued at Rs. 118,800 per tola, and standard gold at Rs. 118,250 per tola on Thursday.
