NOC slashes petroleum prices

The government has announced a reduction in the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene, effective from Monday. Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) issued a statement on Sunday, confirming the price cut for these essential petroleum products. The new prices will see a substantial decrease of Rs 11 per liter for petrol, and Rs 5 per liter for both diesel and kerosene.

Koshi province new Chief Minister Karki swears into office

The newly appointed Chief Minister of Koshi Province Kedar Karki officially assumed office as he took the oath of office and secrecy on Sunday. The ceremony was administered by Province Chief Parashuram Khapung this afternoon. In addition to Karki, Ram Bahadur Rana from the CPN-UML and Shumsher Rai from the Nepali Congress were also sworn in as ministers. Rana, the deputy leader of the UML’s Koshi province parliamentary party, and Rai of NC, who had endorsed Karki as the Chief Minister, were both appointed as ministers without specific portfolios.

Govt receives bodies of five students killed in Hamas attack on Israel

The Nepali Embassy in Tel Aviv stated on Sunday that it received the remains of five students who lost their lives during the assault carried out by the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas on October 7 in Israel. The incident occurred at the Sedot Negev Agriculture Training Center in Kibbutz Alumim, an area situated in the southern part of Israel, near the Gaza Strip.

Govt serious about voting right of NRNs: PM Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the government is effortful to establish voting rights for non-resident Nepalis (NRNs). Inaugurating three water supply projects simultaneously in Chitwan today, the head of the government said the government is working to address the citizenship issues raised by the NRNs. “We are not only concerned about the social security of Nepalis residing outside the country but also working to address their demands for a franchise and citizenship,” Prime Minister Dahal said.

ACC U-19: Nepal clinches second consecutive victory

Mahottari’s Trishuli Devi temple opened for public

Trishuli Devi Temple, a famous shrine in Jaleshwor, has been opened for public. The temple was opened on the occasion of the Bada Dashain festival that formally commenced from today. According to temple priest Upendra Pathak, public are allowed to directly pay homage to the deity Trishuli Devi twice in a year: during the Bada Dashain and the Chaite Dashain festivals.
